Connecticut Radiology Associates, PC (CRA) Derby, CT. CRA has a small staff, an office manager who also serves in her primary role as the lead radiology technician, and six doctors who are very busy radiologists. An issue for them was having the manpower to get some of their important and unfinished projects completed. CRA decided to engage Medical Practice Consulting to work in an interim administrative capacity, finishing many of the outstanding items, including:

• Logo and letterhead. Created uniform stationery for appointment and business cards. Designed new Referral Form and prepared newspaper and trade journal advertising.
• Identity development. To create a public image distinct from its hospital partner.
• Billing service. Evaluated receivables and billing processes and recommended changes to service contract.
• Equipment removal. Coordinated pricing and scheduling to remove old, heavy unused radiology equipment and internal strut system. Coordinated repair and painting which allowed one room to become dedicated for ultrasound.
• Marketing. Developed CRA practice brochure. Visited referring practices to distribute brochure and new referral forms.
• Health insurance. Met with broker, collecting history and information on current coverage. Wrote summary evaluation, proposing the adoption of health savings accounts.
• Revenue development. Researched and developed proposal for additional imaging service line in conjunction with hospital.
